But what does the name Robbedalegård mean?

Robbe

[roh-buh] noun

The word for ‘seal’ in Danish. Yes, you read that right: the cute sea animal!

Dale

[day-leh] noun

A valley. So, Robbedale means seal valley! We’re located on the Robbedalevej: seal valley way. Or seal valley road… or seal valley route.

Gård

[gohr] noun

A farm, plot of land, or courtyard. So, Robbedalegård = Seal valley farm!*

*Unfortunately, we currently don’t have any seals at the gård. However, we do hope you enjoy the company of our own Icelandic horses, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs (and of course also the deers and hares that can be seen in the forest!)!

We also host WorkAwayers!

Are you curious as to what it’s like to work at Robbedalegård? Interested in travelling on a budget? Self-motivated, friendly and fun? Then being WorkAway volunteer might be something for you! Check out our page ‘WorkAway at Robbedalegård’ for more information.
